Multi-Brand EC BWTS Fleets: Technical Work Packages and Quotation Requirements

Updated

Prepare a multi-brand EC BWTS fleet RFQ with per-vessel models, instruments, methods and certificates, then compare shared mobilisation and route costs.

Request EC calibration, a certificate, spares or fleet service

Key takeaways

  • Identify every vessel, variant and instrument.
  • Define separate requested outcomes.
  • State Headway and independent-brand boundaries.
  • Share travel where dates and methods permit.
  • Keep certificate and fault evidence per ship.

Vessel-level system and instrument inventory

List vessel/IMO number, exact BWMS variant and current configuration, then the actual instrument schedule. Headway OceanGuard, Techcross ECS, HYCHLOR, HiBallast variants and other EC-related families are not one interchangeable maintenance system. Each ship may also have different fitted analyser options.

Attach nameplate photos, drawings and applicable manuals where needed. Identify modifications and legacy equipment explicitly. If a family has EC and chemical-only arrangements, establish the delivered configuration before grouping it into an electrochlorination service programme.

Vessel-specific tasks and reporting deliverables

Separate annual calibration/certificate, compatible reagent or spare supply, sample-system inspection, process fault review and biological testing coordination. A ship with a known fault may require a different sequence from one seeking routine annual instrument evidence.

Provide instrument tags, methods, last calibration, due-date basis and required report scope. Each result belongs to an identified device and vessel. A shared service brand or trip does not permit one certificate to imply that different instruments were all measured identically.

Service coverage and manufacturer-authorisation status

Sea Clean is an authorised Headway agent. Other-brand support is independently reviewed; the directory does not claim every manufacturer's authorisation. Where specific work requires OEM input, approval review or different qualified parties, state that need instead of assuming a universal agent relationship.

Independent compatibility review is still useful, particularly for correctly identified instruments and consumables. But availability, competence and procedure must be confirmed. Obsolete parts and unsupported substitutions should remain explicit technical questions rather than invented stock promises.

Same-area mobilisation and sequential port routing

Give ports, terminals, ETA/ETD, agent, access, actual work windows and alternatives for each vessel. The team can compare ships sharing one area with an onward route. Geographic proximity alone is not enough; travel must fit the dates and each technical work package.

Ask the quotation to separate shared mobilisation from vessel-specific work, supplies and contingencies. Different standards, extra faults or changing access may affect the arrangement. No fixed discount or percentage saving applies automatically to every fleet.

Vessel close-out records and fleet-level coordination

Maintain separate calibration results, service findings, parts records and unresolved tasks. A fleet summary can track status and dates, but it should point to each vessel's evidence rather than replace it. Route efficiency must not blur instrument identity or remaining faults.

Review the earliest applicable deadlines and any abnormal checks before choosing a visit sequence. A lower-cost route is valuable when it still meets the work requirements. If an urgent instrument needs earlier attention, keep that ship's priority visible instead of waiting for the rest of the fleet.

Technical work package and quotation requirements

Sea Clean provides annual instrument calibration, calibration certificates, TRO measurement support, consumables, spare parts and technical diagnostics for all EC BWTS manufacturers and variants. Quotation records comprise vessel/IMO, system configuration, instrument tags and serial numbers, required tasks and deliverables, last calibration, due dates, port/berth, ETA/ETD and agent. Supporting documentation includes nameplates, current instrument schedules and relevant service records. Separate equipment, component, diagnostic and reporting requirements enable a defined vessel work package and clear allocation of responsibilities.

Sea Clean can often reduce attendance costs through coordinated fleet planning. Multiple vessels in the same area, or sequential ship-to-ship attendance along an efficient route, can share travel and mobilisation expenditure. Route assessment considers ETA/ETD, instrument due dates, work duration, access, transport and consumable requirements. Vessel-specific labour, parts, findings and calibration certificates remain separately identified; savings are assessed for the actual schedule rather than expressed as a universal percentage.

We service all EC BWTS systems, all manufacturers and variants. Sea Clean is an authorised Headway agent; other manufacturers are serviced independently. Attendance planning, component compatibility and reporting requirements are specified in the vessel work package. Other-brand OEM authorisation, laboratory accreditation and regulatory approval are not implied.

Frequently asked questions

Can a multi-brand fleet share one attendance plan?

Often, if travel, dates, access, instruments and competence make the plan feasible. Every vessel still needs its own technical scope and findings.

Does fleet coordination make all brands OEM-authorised service?

No. Sea Clean's authorised relationship is with Headway. Other-brand scopes receive independent technical review.

Can Sea Clean issue an annual calibration certificate?

Sea Clean provides annual BWTS instrument calibration and calibration certificates. Each certificate documents the vessel and instrument identity, calibration date, method, reference identification, results, adjustments and applicable limitations. As-found and as-left results distinguish initial condition from post-intervention performance. The next-due basis follows the installed-equipment requirements; drift, repair or abnormal findings may require earlier work. Instrument calibration documentation is distinct from BWMS type approval, class/flag approval and biological D-2 compliance evidence.
