CLX Reagent and Calibration Bundles: Purchase-Order Specification
Updated
A combined CLX supply order should retain separate lines for operating reagents, calibration references and service. Bundling procurement can simplify logistics, but it does not make the items technically interchangeable or demonstrate that calibration has been performed.

Key takeaways
- Replenishment versus calibration objective
- Separate reagent and reference identities
- Validity and supporting documents
- Supply receipt versus service completion
Define the intended activities
State whether the vessel needs replenishment, an applicable verification, instrument calibration or maintenance attendance. Identify the current analyser and method. The same delivery can support several activities while still requiring different materials, handling and reporting.
Specify each supplied item
List the operating reagent reference and components separately from the reference solution or other calibration material. Request relevant identification, validity and documentation for each. A supplier's TRO calibration-kit page describes a particular supply product, not automatic compatibility with every analyser or a completed onboard service.
Define bundle acceptance
Check that the received quantities and documents correspond to the separate lines. Where calibration service is included, require the instrument-specific work record after performance. Commercially receiving all boxes is not the same as completing the technical activity those supplies are intended to support.
Illustrative procurement scenario
A vessel orders replenishment and a planned calibration in one request. The quotation separates operating chemistry, reference materials and the service deliverable. Receiving all materials closes the supply lines; the calibration record follows only after the applicable work is performed. This prevents a combined commercial bundle from obscuring the distinction between goods and technical evidence.
Sea Clean service and quotation requirements
Sea Clean services all EC BWTS manufacturers and variants, including annual instrument calibration, calibration certificates, diagnostics and spare-parts support. Sea Clean is an authorised Headway agent; other manufacturers are serviced independently.
Include the following with the email request: Analyser model, reagent/reference requirements, requested service and reporting deliverables. Multiple vessels in the same area or along an efficient route can be assessed for shared mobilisation. Prices, component availability and attendance arrangements are stated in the quotation.

Frequently asked questions
Can one order include reagents and calibration service?
Yes. Keep materials, methods, attendance and certificate deliverables explicit so the order remains technically auditable.
