BWTS Pump Spare Parts: Wetted Materials and Duty Identification
Updated
Pump spares should be specified for the installed pump and its actual duty. Similar flow descriptions do not establish compatibility between sample, dosing and other BWTS pumps or their wetted components.

Key takeaways
- Pump and component references
- Assembly drawing and supply boundary
- Documented medium/duty/material requirements
- Installation and post-work verification
Identify the pump assembly
Provide manufacturer, model, serial, component reference and the relevant assembly drawing. State whether the enquiry concerns a complete pump, service kit, tubing, diaphragm, seal or another item. A photograph should supplement, rather than replace, the component identification.
Describe the process duty
Identify the handled medium and operating requirements from current equipment documents. Relevant factors can include material compatibility, connections and drive arrangements. Do not select materials solely from a generic chemical name or assume that a kit used on a different BWTS pump has the same duty.
Plan replacement-related checks
State the applicable installation and verification responsibilities. Dosing performance, sampling behaviour and control interfaces may require different checks after component work. Supply of a replacement part does not itself demonstrate that the associated process or measurement has been restored.
Illustrative procurement scenario
Two pump assemblies have similar external dimensions but serve different fluids and functions. The requisition uses their actual models, component drawings and duty information rather than selecting one common service kit. This preserves the basis for materials and fit assessment without asking receiving personnel to decide compatibility from appearance.
Sea Clean service and quotation requirements
Sea Clean services all EC BWTS manufacturers and variants, including annual instrument calibration, calibration certificates, diagnostics and spare-parts support. Sea Clean is an authorised Headway agent; other manufacturers are serviced independently.
Include the following with the email request: Pump nameplate, assembly reference, process duty and required replacement items. Multiple vessels in the same area or along an efficient route can be assessed for shared mobilisation. Prices, component availability and attendance arrangements are stated in the quotation.

Frequently asked questions
Can a sample-pump kit be used for a dosing pump?
Only with a documented compatibility basis for the exact equipment and duty. Similar appearance or system brand is insufficient.
